Born 1944 in Venlo, where I completed education successfully at the gymnasium of the Thomas College. Meanwhile, I had piano lessons by Lou de Rooij, organ by Wieke Jordans and music theory by Theo Jordans.

In 1962, I started my study Physics in Nijmegen, completed in 1972 in the field of Theoretical High Energy Physics, with subfields Mathematics and Astronomy.

In 1967, I was appointed teacher of Physics at the Canisius College / Mater Dei school combination in Nijmegen, and from 1971 on assistant professor at the Department of Physiology of the Nijmegen University, later UMC St Radboud, until retirement in 2009. In 1987, I took a Ph.D. in Medical Science. Part of my job was computer support and software writing. You can find some of my work under ‘Science’ and also some under ‘Various’.

A serious option in 1962 had been the academy of music but physics seemed a more socially solid option. Anyhow, I kept on with musical activities, in particular writing (mostly piano) music – which started already in my school years – but also some time as pianist in the Nijmegen Jeugdorkest and later organiser of the "Amateur Componisten Festival" Nijmegen as part of the "PAN concours" 1975, where I played my Eiland in the Kosmos which was broadcasted on radio later in the series "Musica Nova" by Ton Hartsuiker.

In 1969, I married Mieke, to whom I dedicated my Satalise nr.1; she was active in choirs and in organising around musical events. We have four children.

Badminton has been my favourite sport, all my life, playing as well as organizing. I am still very active on both, but no longer on organizing tournaments which I did for over 50 years and even wrote planning software for.
